Lodge News
From our ER
Mary O'Brien
May 1, 2020
Hi All,

Hope this message finds everyone safe and well during this pandemic.  Due to pandemic the lodge will remain closed in May, unless restrictions for MD are lifted.

A very big and special thank you to all our members for your donations to help our employees and our building overhead during this difficult time.  Thank you Mark for kickstarting this.  Donations continue to come and those donations have helped our employees this past month and will help us as we go into May. We are overwhelmed and will continue to be overwhelmed by our members' support to their lodge.  You truly are the BPOE, the Best People On Earth!!!!

Jim, his wife, our cooks, and other employees have been busy deep cleaning, waxing the floors, and painting in the lodge.  Give them a big hand for all their dedication and hard work.  Our lodge is looking extra clean and beautiful.  You will be impressed and feel great when it's time to come back to your lodge, your home away from home.
Please welcome Ricky Lowman back as our House Committee Chair this year. Julia is stepping back, as she is now a trustee.  Libby is taking a break, although she will still be around helping with other things.  We owe them a big thank you for all they did building up our membership participation; and we look forward to their return after their break.  Thank you to Julie and Libby, to all the hard working House Committee, to our wonderful lodge manager, Jim and our great employees for this past year.

Ricky was House Committee Chair for 7 years previously.   He is a hard worker, dependable, and well liked.  He will be working with Jim, our lodge manager to work out the carryout details, prepare  our lodge, instruct the house committee volunteers and employees on safety and health protocols for the future, and make preparations for when we reopen.  We plan to continue our bingo and other great, exciting events and bands for the coming year.  Looking forward to all of us together again enjoying life.

We do plan to offer a new Curbside Carryout soon with a set menu a few days a week probably 5pm to 7:00 pm.   All safety and health codes will be followed. This will allow you an opportunity to help your lodge, and for your lodge to help you with a nice meal, and to say hello to your lodge members safely curbside.   You may email or call the lodge to order when we kick off in May.

We are looking into Elk Grants to help the food bank and the Veterans.  In this time of need our charitable acts mean so much more.

Till we reopen, stay safe and well.  Sending blessings to BPOE, our members.
