L.ots of great things have been happening around the lodge. So many events, from Bar Bingo to Show Me the Money, Boy Scouts meeting at the lodge on Tuesday’s, Chili Cook-off, Charity Dance/Event and The NoWhere Men band, which was a fantastic event and great turnout. It is nice to see so many people smiling and having a good time again.
We have more events coming up as well. The Ugly Sweater Party and Eggnog Party in December and a Happy New Year’s Brunch in January. Please remember, your House Committee are volunteers and in order to keep the events and nightly dinners running smooth, they can always use your help, even if just one night a month.
We received the Gratitude Grant from Grand Lodge, which our lodge used to purchase much needed items for both Gigi’s Playhouse and Anne Arundel County SPCA. Gigi’s Playhouse has programs to focus on a variety of skills, with the goal of helping individuals with Down syndrome and special needs, to become their best selves. The SPCA, provides shelter and humane care for homeless animals in need and work as advocates for animal welfare in our community.
A special Thanks to Adele Ward-Lerner for helping with planning and executing these grants and events. Both charities hold a special place for Adele as well as many of us.
The Elk of the Month for December is Frank Jones, for all his help with the water leak issues as well as, his new roll as a Trustee. He was elected and confirmed during October's meeting. I also want to Thank Mark Walp, for helping with many projects around the lodge, as our lodge had a water leak and various other repairs needed.
Our Lodge is collecting Toys For Tots this holiday season. The donation box is in the Heritage Room. We will be having the Children's Christmas party on December 12th.
